My Argument

In the state of California the statute of limitation on rape is six years if your eighteen and ten years if you are under the age eighteen when the crime is committed. Statue of limitations is when you have a time limit to get a conviction on your case. Even though there is not a limit to report your case, your attacker still will not be charged with rape on your behalf. For example, if your afraid of your attacker when you are raped but later on get the courage to report it after six years you can not go to trail or get a conviction on your case. Also, if a child is molested at the age of six and didn't understand that a crime was committed against them but realized it once they were an adult they can only report their rape, they can not put their rapist behind bars. It shouldn't be a statute of limitation on rape because there is not a limitation on the victims pain. They have to live with it forever so the victim should have forever to get a conviction.
